Giles Long MBE | TV Presenter from Giles long on Vimeo.
• Interested in all aquatic sports and motor sports.  Loves factual documentaries about people, lifestyles, culture, ideas, entrepreneurs, colour, design, music and adaptability.

Giles was lead expert on swimming for the BAFTA winning Channel 4 coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games and is the inventor of the ground-breaking LEXI® graphic system.

He is a Paralympic gold medallist swimmer, though his journey to success was very different from the typical athlete.

At the age of 13 Giles was diagnosed with cancer, shattering the dreams he’d had since he was seven of going to the Olympics.

Despite the apparent end of his competitive swimming career he remained in the sport.  His talent was spotted by a member of the GB Paralympic Team and in 1993 had his first international success in France Sweden and Malta.

Giles broke his first World Record at the age of 17 and won gold in the 100
Butterfly in Atlanta 1996 and again Sydney 2000, breaking the world record. He swam quicker in Athens 2004 winning bronze.

Other than working in television Giles is successful public speaker and has written Changing to Win, an autobiography that carries a simple motivational tool within it.
